Since 2015 when Knowledge Management Services was established, our team has been developing the vision,
implementation plan, governance, training, and eventual roll out of a new enterprise content management system
(ECMS). I have contributed by:
- Leading both strategic and tactical efforts to create frameworks for ECMS governance, implementation, and
training.
- Identifying opportunities for growth, and improvement of processes and practices enterprise wide.
- Networking with all areas of the business to communicate our project vision and gain buy-in and support.
- Leading projects to plan, build, and maintain team, collaboration, and intranet sites including:
- Eliciting customer needs and requirements.
- Creating a long-term schedule and setting goals/milestones for an unfamiliar subject area.
- Working independently and self-regulated to meet those project milestones.
- Communicating progress status to our steering committee and upper management.
- Organize large amounts of data into useable, actionable pieces of information.
- Building SharePoint sites that meet the agreed upon requirements.
- Training site managers to become power users.
- Answering questions and troubleshooting problems as the SharePoint 2013 subject matter expert.
- Developing the necessary SharePoint and web development expertise to implement custom code solutions
(HTML, CSS, JavaScript) when SharePoint out of the box functionality does not meet project requirements.

As the cognizant engineer of a seawater piping system I was responsible for:
- Ensuring my system met all applicable design requirements.
- Performing calculations, writing papers, and giving presentations to prove, and communication design
decisions.
- Working with the Navy to understand their expectations for deliverables.
- Interacting with the highest level of technical leadership at Electric Boat (Chief Engineer).
- Managing stakeholders and stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinating with technical and non-technical interfaces.
Other applicable skills gained while being a system lead were:
- An understanding of earned value management system (EVMS) concepts.
- Leadership and accountability for team deliverables (as acting supervisor on multiple occasions).
- How to prioritize and manage work for a team.
